rosie's reads

i feel a little ridiculous sometimes reading to a 5-month-old, i'm convinced her brain activity while i'm reading is devoted to thinking about how badly she wishes she could lick and chew the thick pages. but i love how bedtime stories become tradition in families. growing up we fell asleep to the chronicles of narnia, and the berenstain bears. we laughed out loud to the poems of shel silverstein, and worked hard to "i spy" all the different items mentioned in goodnight moon. here are a few of our favorites at the moment..
1.jamberry 2.time for bed 3.guess how much i love you 4.goodnight moon

we've also been gifted a few coffee-table baby books that i love-
1.abc nyc 2.art 123

what good baby books am i missing? share your favorites!

  1. You need some Sandra Boynton in there! I recommend "Moo Baa La La La" - it's my favorite. But all of her books are great. And when baby is a toddler, you must get "The Giant Jam Sandwich." P.S. Jamberry is one of our favorites too!!

  2. Yeah, Snuggle Puppy by Sandra Boynton is awesome. Also Max Lucado books are wonderful which come in board book versions...my two favs are You Are Special (I bought it for myself) and The Crippled Lamb. Warning you may cry. :) And another good one especially as she gets older to start conversation about Jesus is The Three Trees, Retold by Angela Elwell Hunt.

  3. We love all things Boynton, but especially My Personal Penguin. We also love I Love You Through and Through. Haven't seen baby coffee table books- we'll have to be on the look out for those!
