some of you have been asking about the flowers i attached to my DIY dress. so below is my DIY for anyone interested in making them, they're called fabric yo yos. and the possibilities of what to do with them, are endless (just pinterest search it)! i particularly love the fabric yo yo quilts that were popular in the early 1900s.
to make them i use these, which you can find at most crafting stores
and this is how you do it (cue the montell jordan)
the plastic makers snap apart like so....
1. place fabric in plastic maker and snap together
2.begin to sew within the notches of the plastic maker
3. once you've sewed the entire perimeter, unsnap the yo yo and remove the fabric
4. tighten the yo yo by pulling the thread tight, finally knot the string to secure the yo yo
